Hi all, Loving our new Ocean, but would like to share a couple of issues I have experienced recently and see if anyone else has and perhaps got a fix. It is has been into the Dealers but they couldn’t find any issues and said there was no outstanding updates against the vehicle.
1. When travelling, predominantly on Motorways, recently the van start beeping at random times. It became extremely irritating and continued even after disabling Driver Assistance Systems. There were no audio messages or warnings on the dash either. I was towing a camping trailer. After some research I wondered if it had something to do with V2x comms as it beeped when we passed police and ambulances at a RTA. Perhaps the trailer blocked the full alert ?

2. After travelling c. 400 miles , being on hookup for a night we then camped off grid at Busfest for a couple of nights. I have installed a Solar panel to keep the leisure battery topped up. I had enabled Camping Mode and during the day I could see a current draw on the vehicle battery and every now and then the leisure battery topping up the vehicle battery. When we came to leave early on the Sunday morning, less than 48hrs later I got a vehicle battery low message when I turned on the ignition. Thinking I might be stuck on a field I pushed the start button and it fired up. I think the presence of our keys, even with Camping Mode enabled, was causing the vehicle to draw current. Keyless entry was switched off. The Dealer says there battery is fine. As an interim I have bought Faraday pouches for our keys.

Any views/similar experiences welcomed.

Regards Sandy

You would expect Camping Mode to disable Keyless Entry, but I don't think it does, so switching that function Off is the way to go. I don't think a Faraday pouch will add anything as long as Keyless Entry is switched Off, and be aware everytime the Drivers door is opened all the vehicle electronics wake up whether you drive or not.

I had disabled Keyless Entry sometime ago, but keyless start is still active. I didn’t think we opened the drivers door much either. Thanks for your thoughts.

The issue with battery drain could be the same as lots of people on here are experiencing and is due to a much bigger issue than the keyless - worth reading a few threads on it as you might need a fix

Thanks for that. My system says it’s at 2650 but as you say it maybe in the the controller.

Hi guys
I haven't introduced myself properly having made an account yesterday, however this topic struck a cord as i have the same issue. Anyways I picked up our T7 ocean diesel 2 weeks exactly today and have second battery discharge issues, and that chiming that the OP says he finds annoying is coming from the screen at the back of the van but co.es thru to the front also. I sat in the van yesterday not knowing where the hell it was coming from when sat in the front, absolutely checking everything exhaustively.
Went into the back and wokeup the screen and its the leasure battery imminently about to deplete itself. I reckon it starts chiming at 10% left and took probably 20mins thereafter to completely empty out which ofcourse means the chiming most certainly will not stop. Had this discharge issue the absolute minute we picked the van up and its forever in a discharge/recharge state so its booked in with St Albans citygate on Tuesday for diagnosis .
Hope that helps?
