I was curious so went and looked at a wiring diagram. My take.
1 - The “charging” light is just a light that tells you the EHU is plugged in and powering the van. It is not per sey a charging light.
2 - (I think) When on EHU the leisures are bypassed and only EHU is used. So if you are getting power at fridge etc, it’s working. All this it seems is controlled by the unit above the battery. This unit will also determine is a trickle is needed to the leisures and starter and control that utilising the relay if needed.
Note - all point 2 could be wrong but it would seem odd to charge and discharge the batteries all the time when on EHU.
3 - If you are getting power to everything BUT the leisures are not charging, the fault lies in this unit. I would say either:
- The 3 pin is still not fully in
- The/a fuse is blown. Check the for continuity as well as visibly
- The unit itself is goosed and needs replacing
Given the leisures are still powering the van when not on EHU my best bet remains with the first 2.
I’m not an electrician, just an enthusiastic amateur, so would welcome all corrections, especially from
