Hi everyone
We are considering on buying the Ecoflow wave 3 air conditioning unit which I believe would fit in between the drivers and passengers front seats.
Is there anyone on this forum that has had any experience with this unit to advise if it is a good piece of equipment and also most importantly how did you vent the duct pipes out of the window and was there an accessory for the window to put the pipes in?
Thanks in advance
Hope this helps, see attached photos (photo from outside did not attach will try again)
used Ecoflow wave 3 in T6 during heatwave in London and med on 7 week trip in August 2025. Only used on hook up not battery.
1. Does not fit between seats. Preferred location in photos attached.
2. Pipes are now insulated on wave 3 (not on wave 2) so no heat from extract pipe onshore run.
4. Absolute lifesaver at night with cold air blown backward into bed area. Noise OK able to get to sleep on Eco. Sometimes too cold had to turn off when temp finally dropped outside. Used occasionally during day when heat became too much for respite.
5. 3D printed vents bought off eBay were amazing quality as pipes lock and supplied with weatherproof gaskets. ABS plastic window templates made up myself a bit rough but with more time could have done even better job.
6. It does produce about 300ml of water but easily collected in plastic water bottle. This is an important part of air conditioning's effectiveness ie reducing humidity
7. There is a review on YouTube by “campervantime. Complete nonsense they did not even test it in high temperatures, they complained about water collection see 6 above. They are getting a fan fitted instead, good luck with that in 35 degree heat and high humidity. They complained about size with battery attached, a fair point but doesn’t really have enough run time to make battery an option for us (plus doubles cost) so considerably smaller.
9. Never tripped a campsite electrics. Was generally pulling only 300w
10. Took about 5 minutes to set up and take down. Stored behind passenger seat on floor when not in use. Not a problem with three people.
Hope this helps you decide.
