Hi, liked and very interested to see your solution compared to mine (posted/photographed earlier in thread). Thank you for sharing.
A few thoughts below.
Pros
1) Takes up less space on worktop internally
2) No vent pipes to carry and connect
3) Less noisy inside but see below perhaps noisier outside
4) water discharges outside van rather than into container.
Cons
1) Difficult but perhaps not impossible to fully weatherproof unit and van compared to front window closing onto weather seals and with weatherproofed vents
2) Noisy outside? may cause complaints
3) can’t use window blind above, tho easily resolved
4) unable to direct cold air into back of cali where there is dead airflow and therefore hottest.
5) Leaves Van and unit insecure compared to solution locked into front window.
