Dsg oil change cost

As said, give or take 10% of regional differences, yes, price is normal. Paid same on the Tiguan.

For the miles, it's 40K for all VW and you can either do now, or wait 400+ miles. I think we did our Tiguan (RIP) at 50K.

What on earth? The whole idea of going to a main dealer is that they are supposed to check everything and update you accordingly! What the hell has happened to customer service for them to say 'we're not obliged to tell you'? That's their JOB!
Agreed and it’s very unusual for a VW dealer to miss an opportunity to find something to charge you for! It’s not in their interests as well as the customer…

I think I put them on the back foot when I asked why they didn't tell me it was due last year at 45k miles and how they also missed it this year at 55k!
As you say you don't usually have to call them up and offer them money.

Simply a case of changing the oil then running the engine until diagnostics confirm a given temp before checking the level.
Correct, cycle it through the gears. I assume its like my Volvo with the drain arrangement. It took about 20min for the Volvo to hit temperature. Did my Volvo's but hate working on my VW.

Wait until you need a new DSG sump cover.

I was doing 20,000/yr so 2 yearly for me.
This source seems to say 3 years, not 2, perhaps difference between T6 and T6.1, unsure as not a member of the T6 forum. My call to Eurovans Crawley today confirmed no time scheduled on T6.1 for DSG oil, only mileage and at 40k...who knows!

I was told at the start of the year (at just over 2 years) by the main stealer that only required at 40000 miles (no time limit) so I could wait and it could be done in early 2026, unlike the brake fluid change which was overdue based on time. Can't see anything in any of the documentation I have that states its time based. @WelshGas do you have the documentation as I'll take it up with the dealer when I'm next in? Thanks
That’s what VW and my van centre told me in Leicester

Oil breaks down over time so I think your right to change it at 2 years. I changed mine at 30k (to be kind to the gearbox) with a dealer in Hull this year, it was just over £300.

I’ve just been quoted £365.00 plus vat for a dsg gearbox oil change on my 22 plate 204 Ocean with 36k on the clock
Is this a normal price ?
Does it require an oil change?
£320 including VAT as Listers in Droitwich.
Thank you for asking the question ... the feedback you received gives me comfort that the painful cost is normal and necessary.

I recently paid 194 plus VAT from an independent DSG specialist in Gloucestershire. Dealer prices mentioned here are ridiculous.

I paid extra for the filter change on an Audi TT 3.2 Quattro at VW Caffyns Brighton. The service desk told me that they don’t change it as standard. The technician said it’s wise to change it, but was not part of the job.

Might be different for a Cali, but best to double check. Changing the oil but leaving the old filter makes no sense!
I will ask. Changing the oil and leaving all the crap in the filter makes no sense at all!

I suggest haggling - I got mine done late this summer for £299 all-in by saying to my supplying dealer:“I’d really prefer not to have to shop around, but . . . “, and smiling knowingly.

That dropped the quote £100 in a trice, so I then just said “Please do it”.

Can I assume that it's changed EVERY 40K miles? Because every post says "at 40K" with no mention of further down the years.

Was this Guildford or Crawley?

Told today by VW that I need it. Van is almost 3 years old and almost 40k miles. DSG oil change quote is £350 which sounds pretty standard going by this thread.

I've just been quoted £263 inc VAT for the DSG oil change at the VW main dealers in Bristol - Mon Motors/VW Van Centre. Does it also need a filter change at 40k (I've done 35k)? They were adamant that it didn't but that doesn't feel right. However, it would be unusual for a dealer to turn down extra work and money so maybe they're correct?

I’m pretty sure I had the filter changed as well, but that was at VW Van Centre Droitwich

Curious is this oil change covered by the 5y service plan that the last of the T6.1s were supplied with ?
D

update - its not , why am i not surprised....

That sounds like a good price for a garage but would insist on the filter being changed, the filter is about 15 quid retail and would only be about ten mins extra work if the vehicle is on a lift.

I did have the same thought when it came to the 2 year brake fluid change (which VW Commercial confirmed was a requirement).

It does seem as though the All In plan isn't!!!

And why should it be. Judging by some of the annual vehicle milage mentioned on the Forum 40,000 miles wouldn't be covered in 5 yrs whereas if I had had the same plan for my California, and it included the DSG oil change every 40,000 miles, I would have had it done twice within the 5 yrs.

by the same argument why should the engine oil be included ?
i just find it frustrating that these sort things come into the optional bucket when really they should be in the must be included.
its like 4wd oil change, thats separate like on all the VAG cars weve had, it shouldnt be and the service plan cost should be adjusted accordingly imho.

Sorry, I don't get the engine oil thing. You have Service package. The Service includes oil and filter change. You would either be on an Annual Service or Longlife Service which would be 2 yearly regardless of milage, but the DSG and Haldex would be on milage which you may or may not accomplish within the life of the Service package. Including such items in the cost might suit some but then means others are overpaying as they won't meet the milage requirements.
