Hi everyone,
Our California (Ocean, 2016, 204hp) has recently had an oil and filter change (local independent garage). Everything was fine then randomly a couple of weeks later the 'Oil Service Now' message appeared.
With the knowledge that the oil had just been change I presumed the service light was not properly reset. So I performed a reset (pressing the trip 0.0 button, turning on the ignition, then pressing OK to acknowledge the reset), and all was good. A couple of days later the same message popped up on the dash.
This has happened several times, and after a reset the display reads 'oil service required in 0 days/0 miles'.
I have also tried an 'oil' and 'inspection' reset, the inspection does reset the time, but the oil doesn't.
I've searched the forum but couldn't see anything similar to this.
Any ideas on why the oil service wont reset?
Could it be the wrong grade of oil used, a failed sensor or a computer glitch?
Any advise is appreciated.
Thanks.
