Battery completely flat

Hey all, so my new California has been parked up on the drive; it’s been a month since it was last driven. I opened the door a couple of times this afternoon to put a couple of things away (I didn’t turn anything on). A few hours later we are unable to open the doors at all. We had to use the manual key to get in and it turns out that both the main battery and second battery are completely flat. The second battery won’t charge when I plug into the house.

I’m going to call VW in the morning but I wondered if anyone has any suggestions as to why this has happened?

Which engine do you have?

It’s a 2L petrol engine. 25 plate so it’s only 6 months old.

Have you had the recommended VW update installed?
This is a well documented issue I’m afraid.

Well, it’s been recovered to the local VW van centre this morning so hopefully they can give us some answers ‍

just wondering if you had any luck with the issue? I had exactly the same problem, not driven the car for just over a week. And it was flat out this morining. Its a 2.0 tdi t7 from 2025. I pluged into mains and it charged the leasure battery fine, now the power is back in the back of the car, however it does not charge the engine battery at all, on the camper back pannel it shows as red with no indicators at all. And the front panel is just off, central locking also doesnt work. Its weird as everything was all fine since i got it 6 months ago.
