Battery management issues VW New California T7

On Friday I was told that only reset of system had been done. Aslo a dealer confirmed that the defect is not solved. They are waiting for software update. I have the software number 2650 since I got it in July.
I think 2650 is the latest software version . Can anyone confirm this ?

My dealer has said they were unable to do the recall and will send a technical report to VW.
Cant say I'm surprised.

Yes, my Cali came out of ‘van hospital’ on Saturday and is version 2650.
Every time I read the words 'van hospital' a little bit of sick comes up in my mouth.

This is an a £80k vehicle that does not work as intended. Stop making VW and the dealers look like caring hospital workers.

I can't believe these vans haven't been returned on mass. Shockingly sh1t.

" caring hospital workers " maybe a minority but for the majority that's a joke.
Why do you think you have a 3 or 5 year warranty with the vehicle?
If you want a vehicle that won't fail under any circumstances then your looking at £100,000 minimum.
There is a big difference between R&D testing and Real World Usage.

Totally agree. A new vehicle shouldn't have these issues, and the UK dealer network don't seem to know what they are doing, in the most part.

As posted upthread, we gave up and took ours back for a full refund, got tired of the run around.

We had a T7 Multivan on loan from Breeze when our GC680 spent 14 weeks in the workshop! We took the van way for an overnight to give it a good test and in the morning the Leisure battery was 109% but the starter battery had gone down to 80%. We are used to battery management as we are very mindful when in our own GC680.

The reply we got from Breeze when raising it implied we didn’t know the difference between the Leisure and starter batteries. Not convinced they have grasped this issue yet.

Having worked in the NHS for 40+ years, I know how it has changed .
Having been in and out of hospital since I was a child I know how the staff do the best job they can with the underfunding. To say only the minority care is ludicrous.

  • Agree
Reactions: Sad
In the infotainment system go to settings menu then information, it will show software version
Thanks, I have 2565 so I suppose that the dealer didn’t update to the latest version as promised last week.

So you’ve met the Minority.

So you’ve met the Minority.
I see the best in people when they’re trying to help me and others. No-one works in the NHS purely for the money.

Anyway, I’ll leave you to your usual pessimism.

You obviously haven't had many dealings with the HQ staff and HR empires.

My new California T7 Ocean (2.0 DIESEL) was not used for 3 weeks at all.
I left it with both batteries full 100%.
After this time - the camping battery got fully drained to 0% with alarm that it needs charging.
(Vehicle battery was around 60-70% according to green marking)
Is it normal? or not at all?
SW version used it 2768.
Please advise.

Mine is still running down at approximately 10% a day with nothing running an everything turned off

I have just decided for the time being to keep it plugged in while it’s at home

It would appear so, think I’d ask for clarification on that. When I had mine done I got a print out to show what had been done listing the update
Booked into my closest dealer for November so they can check for battery updates, will ask them to check out the creaks and rattles at the same time.

Good luck with the creeks and rattles if they sort them out I’ll be interested to hear.
I also have both the battery issues and creaks and rattles - posted about it the other day and no one replied so assumed I was the only one with these noises!
I can just about cope with the cupboard door/shelf rattles but the squeaking/creaking from the cupboard above the hob by the nearside door is just unbearable - drives you to distraction! Trying to get hold of my local dealer as had to buy from miles away as nothing near me and the local dealers said they were not selling T7's due to VW moving to only two dealerships selling them in the UK (Liverpool and Poole)!
Which in itself worries me immensely as I suspect they won't be able to service or fix the new T7's as they will not see many so won't gain the experience and knowledge. I don't want to reject the vehicle and don't even know how or if that's possible. I just want the £80k vehicle I bought to work as it should do!

Creaks and rattles are covered under warranty but only for a limited time/mileage, say 6 months, 6000 miles, rather than the full warranty period. Hopefully your van is within the VW limit
