Hi All

Anybody heard when the first deliveries of the 2027 refresh California will start arriving in the UK? I’m guessing production will start after the summer shut down in August, so possibly Sept for the new reg…

I was close to buying a while back but all the battery/charging issues made me back off, was already nervous given the new Multivan platform. Hopefully they will have ironed out most issues in the 2027 model so I’m starting to consider purchasing. The extended a/c run time on the hybrid will be a very nice feature, in some ways glad the battery issues put me off buying already as I’d be annoyed with this becoming available if I’d already purchased!

Be sure to click the “3 zone climate control” on the order config page.
If not, it renders the rear passenger compartment a health hazard if we have warm 30°c weather.

And a tow bar for bike racks and resale value.

As Stoobthealien replied, I would be looking now rather than later as stock maybe at a premium later if people get wind of the forecast production slow down and buy stock. No harm in looking to see what the offers are available now!
I will also add I’ve had my new Multivan California for several months now (May Production) and 4000 miles in had no battery issues using with/without EHU on several occasions with the batteries lasting around 3 days without, but more importantly they dont take much to recharge back to 100%.
Very early days I know, but I gather the battery issues have been addressed and I’m testament to this and have had nothing to deal with and long may that continue!!
Good luck with which ever direction you take.

Thanks all, some very interesting points and food for thought. So it seems the 2027 MY will have a bit of a nose job (bumper I think) and it sounds like the infotainment screen/set up which is in the Golf and Tiguan now. And the a/c run on feature for the PHEV…

I must say I am starting to wonder if buying now and perhaps getting a deal isn’t the better option. I could wait until the end of this year but not keen on ordering Sept / Oct for delivery in six months!

Going by the published images showing the proposed 7(.1) I must say I’m not keen on the new front end…. I prefer the design of the current T7. with the honeycomb structures. I also prefer the Current T7’s dashboard…. I’m not keen on the screen suspended in the front. The aesthetic of that just looks weird!! But hey! that’s just my personal taste.

I see they are up to £5000 on the PCP deposit contribution now (it's slowly ramped up from £500 at the back end of last summer) - if you can combine that with a decent dealer discount I'd guess you're unlikely to get any better

Only item I saw for the 2027 spec was the heads up display I initially wanted but really actually don’t see the need now we are 3k into our 2026 spec. Love the current design, unsure on the other changes and zero battery issues.

Other thing to note (which is why it's had a nose job!) is that the new one will be Euro 7 compliant - likely this means even more complex emissions control systems, etc to go wrong so may further sway your decision...

We're contemplating updating to a T7 and have been looking into the MY2027 updates.

They apparently include the transmission selector moving to the right hand column stalk from the dash. Not had chance to try the existing version yet but will do next week.

Forgot that one - could be handy if you're turning around and needing to go back and forth - having said that the existing selector is digital and very easy to use compared to a traditional auto box

This might be helpful for anyone considering a t7 purchase..
Our t5.1 beach was in for the roof corrosion and we were loaned a lwb multi van.
The multi van is simply amazing to drive compared to a t6/5, it really is much much nicer and basically a car. It is about a foot longer than the t6/5.1 which is ok but noticeable / manageable in uk car parks. It is much more efficient - we average about 36mpg around town mostly.
The climate control is awful though, we have climatronic in the beach but this only had air con in the front / in the back hot air just gets blown in. Kids hated it so if you do buy a t7 make sure it has 3 zone climate control as the front air con will not cool the rear.

Knowing vw’s timeline i would say late 27 as they will have loads of the old stock to sell off cheap 1st.
Probably explains the call I got off our dealer about trading in our 2022 model. I think I was told an untruth when they said they had someone interested in ours. Had a similar call last year!

Usual sales tactic…….get rid of the outgoing model

It's standard in the coast/ ocean but as you say a must have option in the beach

I just got a good discount off list price of a 2926 Ocean TDI. I was going to wait until MY27, but in the end decided to forego Euro 7. Time will tell whether or not it was a good shout ...

Euro 7 is largely what swayed us to a discounted MY26 instead of waiting to order over the winter.

For example, the Euro 7 particulate size limit is less than 50% of Euro 6, which will surely involve considerably more soot capture, regen cycling and stress on the emissions control systems.

I believe the nose mods are to allow extra airflow to help disperse the heat from extra emissions equipment.
