Hi. looking for recommendations for a garage to look after my 2018 Ocean.
I've had it from new and been to a couple of local main dealers which have resulted in not great experiences.
Martins of Basingstoke were dreadful so we moved to the Breeze in Totton which seemed much better and was worth the hour long drive down.
However, my recent experiences over the last few days have changed my view!!!
The van was booked in for service and MOT but developed some error messages which suggested ABS sensor failure.
I contacted the dealership and they said no problem, they would deal with the sensor issue then continue with the service and MOT.
That is not what happened.
They MOTd it first (despite knowing it would fail which of course it did!!!) then serviced it which threw up some other errors which were repaired under warranty with our all inclusive service plan. There were some very strange advisories about tyres and we were told it needed two new ones., despite nothing being mentioned on the last MOT (done by the same garage) and only 2000 miles being done since. The tyres were on opposite corners of the van and they said they were apparently 'cut to the cord'. They also gave advisories on all 4 tyres for being perished. The van is 8 years old and very low mileage.
I was kept waiting for hours and hours despite there being no chance of the van being ready as it had 'failed' its MOT due to the ABS issue they had been advised about. I was not told.
Any recommendations for independent VW specialists or trusted main dealers appreciated please.
The other thing to mention is that when we questioned why it had its MOT with the the ABS lights on (which they had been told about) the no one from the workshop had the balls to come out and explain it but left it to the service desk guy who really didn't know.
Why would they do that????? Answers on a postcard....
