Hi all,

I've been noticing in recent days and especially today how the my T7 van battery is depleting quicker than expected. I'm using my van everyday and spent this morning cleaning the van for a few hours (in/out, doors open, pop-top up etc...). I checked the battery status and was approx. 50% which seems crazy.

I have switched off Bluetooth for the rear controller, intend to use this when camping only. I am currently using the comfort access which I like, but have now switched this off. All spare keys I keep in Faraday Case to stop them transmitting (just a precaution). I've now plugged the van into the mains hook-up to add some power, but seems a crazy situation to give so much attention to a basic requirement.

Any tips or advice on the topic?

Thanks,
Matt

It may well be Ok, as in normal. My leisure battery depletes relatively quickly and I have it on permanent hook-up in my drive. Have you seen the threads on the issues peeps have had with this? Have you had the SW update and/or the had the control module replaced? It does use a fair bit of juice with ancilliary things in the background and even just opening/closing the doors. The issue gets bad when it depletes the vehicle battery as well.

Yeah, I think it probably is normal as I've had good experience camping with batteries utilised and charged as expected. My fear is how rapid the primary battery can be reduced, will have to get use to EHU at home during cleaning days and apply caution open doors.

Will monitor and see how things work out :thumb

The % is a calculation that is not that accurate.
The voltage however is accurate. What was the actual voltage?
The voltage should be noted at least 30 minutes after Ignition Off or EHU disconnect.

Also due to regenerative braking etc, part of the Euro6 emissions controls, the engine battery is normally only charged to 80% capacity.

Thanks for the info. How are you checking this with the van? Remotely via the California App or VW App?

Neither. I now have a Hybrid Multivan which always charges the AGM engine battery when plugged in to charge the EV battery. Just accumulated knowledge of how the VW systems work.
