I made mine with thinner ply, supported with large dowel (broom stick ) cross brace to the top edge , then extended the length (longer than the suggested size) , fitted a usb / c charging panel (shows LB voltage when plugged in via a 12v plug switch ).
Rubber mat on top

Also fitted some elasticated nets for cables, beer mats etc, attached a surface mount bottle opener etc for more space / utiliy, one of the most useful utility surface.
