Hi!

I’ve got a 2005 t5 with the hydraulic elevating roof

I had a leak in both pistons and a cracked hose on left side on the car. Replaced both pistons and hoses on left side. 4 new position sensors from bmw were also fitted

Still the car think the roof is open. Hence I’m not able to open it from the panne ( i had to hoook the motor on to a battery to get the roof open)

Any ideas on how to get this sorted?

When i elevate the roof by batteri, the controlpanel works as intended intim i close the roof. Then it wont open again

Note: i might have mixed the two sensors front/rear on left side while replacing the piston. Is there any wiring scheme available? I suppose the wiring colour will tell front/rear.

Headliner is out at the moment, so i could theoretically measure the cable loom

I don’t think it’s possible to mix the two sensors (front/rear)…? They have different length to the wires, right? With the roof closed, have you tried to delete fault codes stored in the control panel? Have you tried to press and hold lower right button for at least 5 seconds? Have you tried to restart the control panel? Have you tried to disconnect the two leisure batteries for 5 minutes?

If you have another California, a friend, you can compare components and wires I guess…to confirm you done it right?

Hi

I have tried deleting the codes. 1000 and 1010 comes back

I havent tried to disconnect the two batteries. Any spesifikt way to restart the panel?

My cable buam had the connection in the middle of the piston - fully plausible to mix front and rear
