Hello all,
Would anyone be aware of a place I could source a replacement head liner trim for under the slatted overhead bed? Cooking and general scratches have left my current one looking a bit lived in :)
Plastic securing gromets haven't snapped off yet however, which is great :D

Thanks in advance

Paul

In addition to the above Recomendation of Kernow Transporters;

Kernow can fit an Alcantra type headliner, ( I assume they cover the original) - see their FB page.

Vw dealer will be able to supply

be aware Headliners are very expensive

How do you remove the plug though once the head has snapped off the plastic plug? That's the first time most people will be aware there is a problem.

From memory it’s a plastic washer around a metal rivet that the headliner is fixed with.
After a few of the washers on mine had become lost I replaced both washer and rivet with one of the panel push in trim fixtures

(This one on my bench seat back, not the headliner).
A thought on the headliner: Could Kernow recover your existing moulding? Perhaps as an exchange for one already done.

Thanks. The plug is entirely all plastic. Perfecto offered great advice; just push the stem through and insert a replacement plug. I'm just awaiting the arrival of the new plugs and that should solve the problem. Right now, there is no need for Kernow involvement. We'll see how it goes.

I tried both type of clips for the headliner. The initial issue is removing the broken post. In most cases, they just pushed through, but one broke off awkwardly and would neither push nor pull to remove. Verrrrryyyy carefully, I used an extremely sharp Stanley knife and cut the collar of the broken stud flush with the bed frame, trying not to push too hard so as to cut the headliner below. Then it pushed through easily. The non-VW two-part clips that Perfectos recommended would not work in this case. Whilst I agree, they seemed the better part, once the first part of the plug was inserted, I could not force the second part of the plug into the hole. Instead, I resorted to the VW OEM clips purchased through CamperVantastic (VW Securing Plug for Elevating Roof Bed Lining in VW California Ocean & Beach - N90 201 601 Y20). Since the holes are in a very awkward position, I was able to push the clip in a bit of the way and then used the flat side of a chisel against the clip head to push the clip home using good force. Hopefully, they will last another eight years!

I wrote to Kernow. They apparently do not cover headliners. I wasn't really interested in recovering my headliner over a few plastic plugs, but thought I's ask anyway. They provided a reference but I deleted the info...sorry.
