Booked in for two nights and this will be our first VW rally and we can't wait!

Just booked, looking forwards to our first get away of the year.

If you going make sure no food is left outside as they have a problem with badgers helping themselves to your goodies

All booked in, will be the starting point for our tour of West Country

Hey , anyone got teenagers or kids coming to the meet ?

We hoped to come to this with the kids 12 and 10, which would have been our 1st rally. Towing our new-to-us Swift Basecamp. But the campsite won't let us park the Basecamp and the Beach on the same pitch, so not for us this time.

There are a few pitches left for the weekend but please note the new code to enter when booking is

Is anyone waiting to take a space for this weekend? Unfortunately Ed has pulled his back and we don’t think we’ll make it. We paid £90 for 3 night so we’re open to offers- plus we need to pay £25 to change names. Let me know…

Hi Martin,
On Friday will you be coming around to introduce yourself ?
Also are there any plans to gather up the bar/club house.
On Friday night there is live music from 7pm. I don't think there will be anything on the Sat night. Unless they are playing sport on the big screen ?
And FYI for other people who are going - i see that down in West Bay on Saturday there is going to be two open air markets.

Cya all Friday :)

Looking forward to the meet up at the weekend and glad that the weather is looking kinder to us than last year.

This will be our first club meet and first visit to Highlands. Is it just a case of turning up and bagging whichever gravel pitch we like the look of (believe we have electric hookup also)?

In addition we have friends joining us in their Cali also. If they are later arriving than us, is it acceptable for us to 'reserve' them a pitch next to use by putting our chairs on it until they arrive?

Thanks in advance

Craig

Hi,

Yes with these type of meets there is no actual plan for the weekend, its just a case of walking around and having a chat with other owners and then the option to go to the club house in the evening, its al very easy going and everyone is free to do what ever they wish to do

Yes that should be fine, but I would check with the site on arrival as well as they have quite a lot of rules and regulations there !!

If anyone takes this booking let me know and we will try and get this name change fee removed, i'm quite shocked they are even doing that!

Sorry for stupid question:

If I’ve read the rules right about parking on the left of the pitch, I’m a bit stumped. In the VW California, the sliding door and the wind-out awning are on the offside (the driver’s side).

If I reverse in and tuck myself over to the left as requested, my door and awning will be opening directly onto the grass rather than the hardstanding (would rather not if it rains or is already wet/muddy!). Is that how it’s supposed to work, or have I completely got the wrong end of the stick with the site layout?

Thanks

I assumed that we would park nose in on the left freeing up space on the right for awnings etc. Hopefully someone who has been before will clarify for us.

Unfortunately we are having to pull out of meet up, paid for two nights ( Friday & Saturday ) electric hook up, grass pitch. If anybody wants to offer me something for our pitch, I’ll be quite happy to send the details.
