Does Ocean rear seat fold flat if rear bed board removed?

Hi all,

Before I wrestle out the rear bed board frame, can anyone confirm if the rear seat back will fold flat into the area where the bed board is usually mounted?
With the headrests folded, it looks as though it should do without any problem, but it would be handy to know for sure before I take out the bed board.

I've got a single bed frame, mattress, tumble dryer and a load of other bits & pieces to transport to my son's new house.

Do you mean will the seat back fold down without first sliding the whole thing forward?

Not sure? Might be a tall order given the bracketery etc attached to the sides.

Only one way to find out.

You could probably try it whilst waiting for replies here !

If I understand your question correctly you want to slide the bench (with the backrest down) all the way to the back. There are limiters in the rails that block the bench from moving all the way back.

Depending on the distance you need to transport everything, you could consider doing it in 2 trips, one for the bed frames with the bench folded down and the second for the tumble dryer. Otherwise I would just rent a van.

I'd like to leave the rear seat in its current position, which it slid back as far as the bed board frame.
Then, leaving the seat in that position, remove the bed board frame and fold the rear seat back flat. So the rear seat back folds into the space normally occupied by the bed frame.

The seat back looks narrower than the width between the wardrobe and the other side of the van, so I'm hoping this will work.
I can then sit the tumble dryer in the centre of the van, resting against the backs of the front seats and pile the mattress and bed frame on top of the folded rear seat/tumble dryer. All with plenty of padding to protect the cupboard and wardrobe doors!!

I sure you have a reason to put it in the middle, but with the bed frame out and the bench seat in the forward position there would be load of room to put tumble dryer in the rear and use the mattress as a protector.

This was going to be plan B, if my original idea won't work.

The main reason for putting the tumble dryer midships is that it is quite heavy and easier to get in and out without risking scratching the van or internal fittings. With the roof raised, one person can stand up inside and support most of the weight as it is lifted in and out. We've already moved it once this way and it was very easy to load/unload. But yes, plan B is also an option.

To answer my own question ; yes it does!!

With the rear bed board removed, the rear seat needs moving forward one click to give enough clearance for the top right hand edge of the rear seat to fold fully flat.

Even with the rear seat in there, it looks pretty spacious and I should be able to fit everything in easily.
