Hello, hope all ok and you’ve been able to enjoy the weather. One thing I’m umming and erring over is if the air conditioning is cold enough? For example while it was cooling the front down today it felt like it was struggling. Granted it was 35 today and it’s an open space compared to a car but compared to my misses Kia Picanto the air conditioning falls well short of hers which is ice cold.

Is this something others have noticed or should i consider speaking to the dealer?

I think VW a/c is a bit underwhelming. It does effectively make the van feel comfortable even in high temperatures and with a large volume of air to cool but the vents dont feel icy like some other brands.

Its unfair to compare against anything Japanese or Korean as they are the best in the business when it comes to AC.

Did you check that you had the rear climate control activated with all the vents open?

I presume you have the 3 zone Climatronic system?
Use recirculation mode to cool the vehicle air rather than the outside air coming into the vehicle.
Or manual mode that sets temp of air from vents.
Climatronic is designed to gently lower air temperature in the 3 zones to the set temperatures rather than just blast out cold air.

It also has a setting for how aggressive you want the fan to be which is worth checking. If you just have a beach without climatronic (ie you didn't specify it) then you might struggle as there's no AC in the back

I did, i tried with and without, seemed to work slightly better with it blowing behind as well.

Thanks I’m sure ill get the hang of it

Well I’ve had chance to study this some more this week for obvious weather reasons and yes, it does seem underwhelming compared to my other & previous cars. It does get there and as @WelshGas explains the climatronic approach, maybe it’s as designed. Still a little frustrating and one to try on recirculate to see if it improves it. Will have a play.

Mine works spot on, obviously my cars cool down quicker but that’s because there is less internal volume to cool compared to the cali. 34 outside today and the van was a nice 20 front and back

To be honest, just had to have mine re-gassed after only 3 months and now working fine.
You might to get it checked if still having issues
