Our T7 ocean is covered in a separate thread about battery drain. However it’s now apparently been recalled (whilst still at the dealer!) for an issue relating to the vehicle not turning off systems at the end of the hybrid battery being charged, and therefore draining the battery 12V again.

Has anyone else had this recall? We’ve been without our van for 2.5 weeks now.

I got mine back this morning, software update has been done and new harness fitted. Interestingly on the drive home a message popped up about another software update, I’ll do that tomorrow and confirm the software version.

I want to book a few nights away for next week given my Scotland road trip is now going to be 2026 but that may be tempting fate. Think I’ll put my Cali into off grid camping mode on my drive to see how it gets on, fingers crossed.

I’m doing the off grid experiment at the moment (covered on a different chat). Main battery is holding its charge and leisure batteries draining as expected. Software is 2650. Experiment will run for another day, so far so good.

Hi I'm new here and due to pick up a T7 diesel Beach. Just wondering is the battery software issue/ recall just for Hybrid versions or is an issue for all T7s?

T7 ocean hybrid.

Got the car delivered in early August. Was updated with the software version that was supposed to prevent the consumer and starter battery from discharged.

Did some idle tests of the car in camping mode. All Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections disconnected.

The test ran for 9 days. I was inside the car once a day to take a photo of the display by the C pillar. Access was via the tailgate. No other doors opened.

After 9 days, both the consumer and starter batteries were 70% discharged.

Sent an email to the dealer. Got a message back that the car was recalled. A fuse needed to be replaced.

Have the car back today. It's more than just a fuse that has been replaced. The workshop explained that replacing the wiring harness etc. had to do with the batteries discharging.

Now I'm so excited to see if it has improved the idle time.

If I had not contacted the dealer, I would not have received information about the recall of the car. I have not received any info. from either Selmar (importer) or the Danish Motor Agency.

So dear California T7 owners. If you have not had the wiring harness/fuse replaced, contact your workshop and ask if there is a recall on your copy of the car.
