Late reply on this particular question but yes you should be fine on Icelandic roads including the interior ones ('F roads'). They may be snow covered anyway, so any reasonable winter or all seasons tyre will be as good as any other.Would CrossClimate tires be sufficient for driving on Icelandic roads, as a replacement for Michelin Latitude Cross tires?
Not the most challenging F-roads, but the F35 for example.
I would say swap the CC2 from the rear to the front and put the new CC3 on the rear.I have cross climate 2 on a 2024 T6.1 California ocean 2 wheel drive - i will be replacing the front tyres soon - can i fit cc 3 to the front and keep the cc 2 on the rear. Is this 100% ok/safe/approved?
Thanks. Sounds like good advice. The rears are around 6mm at just under 30k and the fronts around 3-4mm but a bit scrubbed at the edges. Impressed by the tyres, and happy with the wear. Performance in snow is ok-average. But a fair compromise all things considered for my use case (Peak District down small lane and use most days and for longer trips). On odd occasions i get trapped at home, but that's good fun! Great vansI would say swap the CC2 from the rear to the front and put the new CC3 on the rear.
Two reasons, more tread equals more grip (generally) and the CC3 generally better performance. You want to feel any loss of grip though the steering / under acceleration or braking, rather than the rear suddenly looses grip and you spin.
New tyres to the back it is. Thanks.Yes better tyres on rear is the advice given by tyre manufacturers as that gives you more stability in marginal situations..
Hi,
I’m looking to get these tyres when I next change them:
Michelin CrossClimate 3 235/55 R17 Y (103) Y XL
However, looking at Costco/Black Circles these tyres don’t appear for our 6.1. Was changing a tyre on our other car at Costco and asked about the van. They said they’d not fit them without clear evidence they’re ok for the van. The manual provides a bunch of info on tyre ratings, but I can’t find a definitive list of approved tyres. I know lots of folks here, use and recommend these tyres, so pretty confident they’d be fine. Does anyone know where there’s documentation showing they’re ok? Or recommend a way forward?
Thanks!
Should have ordered 4!!!
Is there a current offer on at Costco for these?
I went to CostCo and they fitted 4 of these for me no query. So far so good !Hi,

I've got these on my Electric Peugeot - Great tyre, and a definite alternative to the CC3 everyone raves about. Exceptionally good grip in wet even with very spirited driving and cornering. Haven't had nay slush so can't comment - hopefully they'd be equally as good.Ended up getting Conti All Season Contact 2s for about £160 a tyre. I've used them on the 1 -Series and they were great so hopefully the same for the Cali. Main thing for me is wet braking when it turns cold, and grip in the snow and slush of a Northumbrian winter. Contis and Michelins have been great so far.
Will do, at least if my small brain remembers to.I've got these on my Electric Peugeot - Great tyre, and a definite alternative to the CC3 everyone raves about. Can you let us know how you get on with them as I'll be renewing tyres later this year/early next and these would be my choice.
I think most tyres are asymmetric. I think the Bridgestone spare that came with the van is rolling the wrong way on my van.I tried to order 5 Michelin CrossClimate 3 235/55 R17 Y (103) Y XL from Costco has their offer was the best I could find on the net, but computers said NO. I went to our nearest Costco store in Leicester and the chap explained that the issue is the CrossClimate 3 235/55 R17 Y (103) Y XL are directional and should not be used as a spare. So I had 4 and one multi directional compatible tire fitted to the spare fitted at Costco. Currently done about 1000 miles and can’t fault them.
The tyre reviews website / YouTube channel did a test, correct vs reverseI think most tyres are asymmetric. I think the Bridgestone spare that came with the van is rolling the wrong way on my van.
When racing Metros we used to run the rear tyres the wrong way on certain tracks.
Not sure exactly what it does to the performance of the tyre and vehicle.
