A couple of years ago one of my kids tried to turn the driver’s seat without positioning it correctly and ripped off the door side and rear plastic trims at the base of the seat. I managed to bodge a repair but on my latest trip it’s come away again. Does anyone know where it is possible to source this part (7H7.881.318E.30T)? A VW OEM parts site says it’s not available and I don’t fancy me chances with a breakers spare part as it’s so specific. Screenshot of the part attached. Thanks!

You could try calling your local VW Van dealer. Ours gets the parts ordered in, we pay on collection and it’s often cheaper than anywhere else!
There is a stud on the seat rail which catches the edge of the trim as it’s swivelled. It may be worth looking at that before fitting new trim.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately VW no longer make the part so it’ll have to be either new old stock or a breakers!

I don't know what's broken on your trim part, but there are plenty of YouTube videos of how to fix plastic trim parts, even replacing screw mounts etc. Take a look and get creative!!
I fixed a Porsche rear brake cooling duct for £10 worth of glue and mesh last week, saved £250 on a new one

Thanks @IanReynolds. I think that may be what I need to do as the very helpful suggestions from other posters havent, so far, come up with the part. In particular, VW no longer makes the part and I think the chances of finding new old parts or one from a breakers is small. The biggest issue is that the fixing "pegs" you can see on the part have snapped off. My previous bodge was to reattach them with epoxy glue but this doesn't "bond" to the plastic and therefore over time comes away. I have a plastic welder with metal staples that embed in a part (used to fix a cracked bumpered trim on another car) but this just doesn't work here. Any links/suggestions for a fix gratefully received!

First of all I glue the broken tabs, just to hold them. I used the 2 part Mitre glue from Screwfix, works on many things! Then I got some mesh from Halfords and used a normal soldering iron to press and heat it 20260714_172103.jpginto position to give strength, then I smothered with Tiger Seal. I'll send pics....
