Afternoon all.
I have a mystery that I hope someone can help with.
I looked under the driver’s seat of my van (2022 T6.1 Ocean 4Motion) at the weekend (not somewhere I look very often (or clean very often as can be seen from the photo!)) and saw this flanged hex nut just loose on the floor. It is the same type and thread size the as the nuts used to fix the seat base to the van floor (M8 at a guess, though I have not measured it, but I did try it on the exposed portion of the stud on one of the seat bolts and it matches). I have checked that the 4 No. nuts are present on both the driver’s and passenger’s seats and they are. To the best of my knowledge, no work has been done under the driver’s seat in the time I have owned the van and I can’t see a bolt or stud in that area that is missing a nut.
My current thinking is that the nut was “dropped” in there when the seat was fitted in the factory, a replacement used to secure the seat and the dropped bolt just not spotted/found/picked up.
Does anyone have any suggestions of where it might have come from/where it should be attached to?
