Ignoring cost, which is the best type of deflector? The VW type that stick on the frame, or the third party type that are inserted into the sill and held with clips? Do they all work OK with a wrap round windscreen cover? Thanks

Team Heko for me, no problems, no noise , no water ingress. Look good, no drilling holes

Thanks for the Heko recommendations, but I am leaning towards the VW stick ons. Fitting seems simpler and feedack suggests they may be more functional, even if less attractive

I had the stick on variety on my 5.1. On my 6.1 they fitted the ‘in-channel’ clippy things (not sure of the correct name). I had repeated problems with the window not closing. I reverted back to stick-on and much prefer them. They have a wider profile that some don’t like, if they are after a slick look, but I think that the wider profile means more air flow and protection from rain / drips when trying to stay cool during hot wet weather. We often open the windows 3 inches in full rain when cooking, or in de-mist mode first thing in the morning.
