Error emergency call. Please visit workshop

An update. Took van to the dealer.

They told me the sos battery needs replacing and only when the battery has been replaced can they do the software update.

I’m out of warranty but they have said they will not charge me. Something about a factory claim….

Batteries are on back order so still greeted by an orange BEEP when I start the engine.
Yes Im awaiting this on back order so have the warning light on my 2021 Coast.

Yes mine did the same on Saturday, it had already downloaded the software a few weeks ago and all was good after i logged back in etc. But now the SOS fault, road sign camera faut and no life at all from the central screen. Rang VW Assistance and they said either a module or a software issue and that dealer would contact me within 48 hours...still waiting!
Mine was the control module that had failed (just after 3 years), had to come from Germany and half the dash came out to fit it, but now fine and VW sucked up the £3k bill as "Goodwill" :thumb

Greeted by the error this morning on my 21 Coast. I recall the msg on the screen a few months ago asking me to agree to the software download, which I pressed "ok" to and then the subsquent email from VW about the upgrade being required for 5G etc. Assumed that it had completed ok, but seems not. Service due in July, I might just leave it until then to save a wasted dealership trip. Found this thread hoping for some pearls of wisdom where someone had managed to upload the new firmware via the SD card. Shame :)

Depends when your warranty expires as Im unsure if upgrades are only covered under that?!
Ive just had mine done which was booked in February to be done with service & mot, however, they didnt have the right part to do it then so had to wait for it to come in which took 3 months!

I looked at a neighbours Tiguan with the same fault. VCDS flagged a faulty module which sits behind the instrument cluster.

He sold it and went ID3 which, seemed a bit extreme !

Thanks Jenny. I am book in for service and MOT in 3 weeks time. Took the extended warranty on purchase, so hoping I should be covered. That 5 years went quick eh? Looking to opt for the All In package next month.

I drove a Tiguan as a loner once and didn't like it one bit. I sympathize with the notion of getting rid of it.
