I assumed that we would park nose in on the left freeing up space on the right for awnings etc. Hopefully someone who has been before will clarify for us.
I am sure thats what you will have to do.
Its the same at CAMC club sites , and mostly the same on all other sites.
Setting up to have - Caravan / Awning / Car - so whatever side ur awning is on your camper - its in the middle.
For Cali's it will be drive in front facing - to put ur awning in the middle.

:)

Sorry folks I'm not going to be able to make this weekend. Hope you all have a great time.

We are unable to come as mentioned previously dues to Ed’s back, but we now have a broken van! The red oil light came on yesterday and so we had to be towed into the garage hoping it’s not something too serious!
So a broken van, a bad back, we’ve lost £90 on the booking and to top it off the site want to charge us another £25 for cancelling. They were not prepared to swap the dates for us, and added the extra charge ( which I’m sure is in the small print) so we’re not too happy. Never come across this before with a camp site.
Anyways … hope you all have a great weekend and sorry we won’t get to meet everyone. Tracy and Eddie.

Shocking what a rip off that is

That cannot be right surely? I am not involved in this meet up but that attitude will have a negative effect on my future plans.

I feel quite upset about it really. I’ve never experienced such charges in all the 10 years in our van! Have others who have had to cancel had the same treatment?
I’m sorry to see your been told this and despite what it may say in their terms and conditions it feels unreasonable considering you are already forfeiting the entire balance.

I would email them something along the lines of “I note the cancellation policy in your terms, but under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 any cancellation charge must be fair and a genuine estimate of your loss. As I am already forfeiting the full amount paid, I believe the additional admin fee is an unfair penalty and therefore unenforceable. Please confirm you will waive the admin fee or provide evidence of your actual additional loss caused by this cancellation.”

I am really sorry about this Tracy , I will bring this up with the site when I arrive tomorrow as I think this is totally unacceptable especially with the amount of vans we have bought onto their site this weekend

I did look up the cancellation terms when the event was cancelled in 2025 .
This was what I found in their terms at that point. ( I never saw the extra flexibility option as it was an event )
From what I found -:
Based on the WDLH Booking Terms & Conditions, here's what you need to know about cancelling a paid booking:

**Standard Cancellation Terms**

- More than 42 days before arrival: 90% refund — they retain the 10% deposit, plus a £25 admin fee is charged on top.
- 42 days or fewer before arrival: no refund at all, the £25 admin fee still applies, and any unpaid balance remains due.

Cancellations can only be made by phone on **01308 426947** (10am–4pm), by the lead name on the booking. Refunds are processed within 7 working days to the original payment method.

Importantly, if you haven't paid the full balance at the point of cancellation, you're still liable for the outstanding amount plus the admin fee, minus any refund due.

**If You Chose the Extra Flexibility Option**

If you paid the optional 5% add-on at booking, the terms are more generous:
- More than 14 days before arrival: 100% refund (excluding the flexibility fee itself)
- 14–7 days before arrival: 50% refund
- 7 days or fewer: no refund

**A Few Other Points Worth Noting**

- If you cut your holiday short for any reason (including bad weather), there is no partial refund.
- If WDLH terminates your booking due to a breach of their terms (e.g. behaviour), no refund is issued.
- For adverse weather, a refund is only given if the park itself closes for health and safety reasons.

Thank you Martin. That was my thoughts too.

Good advice thanks

In what world is it reasonable for the site to keep the total cost of the stay that you are already forfeiting and then add insult to injury by charging you a £25 cancellation fee?

What would happen if you just hadn't turned up and not informed them? Surely you not attending site will actually save them money?

I'm astounded and it would put me off going again. Completely unreasonable.

If they don’t resolve this we certainly won’t be using them again for a rally.

Same here. If they don't remove the cancellation fee in this circumstance, then we will not return to the site in future either.

So what happens if you just don’t turn up ? Will they take the £25 from your card you paid on? I find this disgusting and unheard of, even Ryanair would not do this

  • Agree
Reactions: Sad

I did ask if we could move to another date - no
( National trust sites are very good with this)

update: “Thank you for your email.
I have looked into this, please accept our apologies for this mix-up. We’re having a few teething issues with our new booking system and I can confirm that the admin charge has been deleted therefore no monies are owed to us.”
For anyone interested our van needs a new oil sensor , timing belt and an oil seal … all in all an expensive weekend at home! Have a great time everyone!

Sounds like they were asking for £25 cancellation fee, unaware you’d paid upfront. I
Suggest asking for a refund of what you’ve paid minus the £25…

Hi, it’s our first club meet so we’re new to this :) Are there any planned meet ups over the weekend or do we just mingle on site?

We are in the grey Cali t5.1 on silver 20” wheels SM60*** plate if anyone wants to say hello
