Anyone else booked trips for 2026 yet, and where are you going?

How does being there for 2 weeks count as importing? Annoyed on your behalf.

Haha, thank you. Yes it does seem strange and i have never had this in any other country, but any vehicle taken into Iceland is classified as "imported', in the case of a holiday it is 'Temporarily imported'. Either way they have you by the short and curlies. Also this rule only came into force from 1st January this year.

At least I managed a good (correction, Fantastic!) deal on the ferry ticket :thumb

That's my home patch - I'm sure you'll have a great time! We've looked at Ireland but as you say the ferry is ridiculous (you can use clubcard vouchers to help) - I've totted it up and given fights are stupidly cheap as is car hire even with hotels / b and b it's cheaper to just fly...

Happy to help with any NE hints!

Actually stoobthealien if you can suggest a good metro or train station to park at during the day around the outskirts of Newcastle that would be great - I prefer open air just in case! I was looking at parking near Chester le street station or one of the metro park and rides.

I’ve went with kneep for a couple of nights. Also booked Horgabost and Eilean Fraoich for a few nights each. I’d hoped to use some free park ups but have been advised it’s mega busy in May and difficult to find space.

If you want to be close to the A1 then as the other poster said callerton parkway is fine albeit it's only on the green line so less regular (and with the current reliability issues might be lengthy!) - Kingston park is also fine. I live close to South Gosforth metro which is slightly deeper into the suburbs but is on both metro lines and there's plenty of free parking just a short walk away. It's one of the most expensive suburbs in Newcastle so pretty safe! We've a nice high street with an excellent bakery, traditional greengrocers, butchers etc as well

Cahors in the Lot in June and then on to Utrecht Holland for an annual Japanese Samurai Fair

Tuckers Grave, Somerset (Cider House), a little “Drinking Village with a Fishing Problem” back home in Cornwall, and Silverstone within the next 4-5 weeks :)

Now I'm feeling good, the price for the same route on the same dates and spec is now 2001 Euro MORE than I paid a few weeks ago! Yes of course that is how dynamic pricing versus special offers work, but Hey, it still makes me feel good! :thumb

Not just that, the oil price explosion has flowed down to transport costs very quickly

We have (finally) just planned a short round trip in France for August.
Wanted to do it last year, but as it was our first summer with the Cali, we weren't really organised.
We always go to France for a couple of weeks, in a static on one park.

We have planned 4 parks varying 2 - 5 nights across 15 days. Cost less than half the price of our normal break - really looking forward to it. I may be asking for tips at some point... ;)

Couple of UK breaks booked too.

Booked on ferry to Santander in August and 2 nights in San Sebastián for pinxtos. Then 12 further nights yet to decide where to go.

Any campsite recommendations welcome.

Did northern coast once before and rained for 2 weeks so not doing that again!

Probably head half way down spend a few days then mosey back.

Get a good spot for the total solar eclipse if you are there on 12th August. Sites are getting booked up quickly as we have recently found.

Booked 4 nights at Camping Bungalows Rio Jerte. Seems nice!
