Anti-Sagging roof solution

Hi,

as usual, my roof on the Cali 2015 is sagging. I have came across this item: https://www.buessli-shop.ch/en/products/spanner-aufstelldach-california-ocean which supposedly stops the roof from sagging. It looks great but the price is very "Swiss". ;)

Did someone find better solution / is someone using this device and has opinion on it?

Thank you!

J.
I would be really concerned about forgetting to remove the device and doing significant damage to the hydraulics. The way the hydraulics works is to drive the rams both on both the open and down cycles, thus if the device if left in place and you try to close the roof, it will be fighting with the hydraulics. It might be there is a bypass valve, but feels easier to reset the roof just before bed.

2 lengths of broom handle cut to length and painted red would do the job for £1.
Ideal, with a couple of red ribbons on both ends of each to minimise the chances of my forgetting they’re there.
Probably one on the steering wheel as well for good measure. It would eventually happen to me otherwise

I'm going to try the broom handle suggestion, but in the mean time, I did this (see picture) for the first time with a strap, and it works fine: the strap is tensioned more then when I put it on, so it keeps the roof from sagging.

But when I want to remove the strap, is the whole thing going to collapse suddenly, since the roof motor didn't have to relift the roof ? Should I try to "open" the roof (although it is open) to relieve the tension, before removing the strap ?

I used the strap method yesterday for the first time and there was no sag. Amazing result given the temperature.
There was no drop or movement when I released it.
Just remember to have a long tail hanging over the side of the van, mine is bright red. :thumb

Thx ! As you can see, my tail is orange, and it's even long enough to have it between the drivers door to bind it to the steering wheel.
