Our California was ordered new in 2021. Will and Sarah became favoured viewing during the year long wait. Often over dinner my wife and I watched their YouTube channel.

There are many great sources of California information with this forum being paramount, however outside of this forum Will and Sarah’s was our most fruitful source, and new owners might do worse than work through their YouTube channel.

My enthusiasm to buying a California was not at first shared fully, and Sarah’s measured responses helped my wife prepare and accommodate me.

They moved on from Californias (as did their channel which changed from ‘California Time’ to ‘Campervan Time’ describes), but all that thought which they recorded on YouTube is left to help newer owners (and established owners with new issues); and their latest YouTubes continue to enjoyably inform.

3 years later we are fairly ‘fluent’ in California. But Will and Sarah, like a favourite schoolteacher, are fixed in the memory: so that when we saw a baby-blue Westfalia Sven Hedin, with a UK plate at a prominent pitch, on our daily walk in Cannero Riviera this September I remarked “that’s the same as Will and Sarah’s”.

We were not on the campsite; we had an apartment nearby. As septuagenarians, we prefer to rent self-catering accommodation, though our California is in full use on our trips including taking a kip, meals, handwashing etc.

Returning from Cannero Riviera in October (in our case via the memorable Simplon Pass) we logged last week on to Campervan Time wondering what Will and Sarah had been up to: only to find it was them, we would love to have met in the flesh, but just missed this by taking the boat to Luino only an hour later, see:
.

Will and Sarah, long may you post and your subscribers grow.

Shame you missed them!

I've seen a few of their videos. Once you notice how often Will interrupts Sarah to either confirm what she's saying or say something else, it's difficult to not notice it!

Yes it would have been nice to thank them in person for all that useful knowledge: given that, at our advanced age, we had embarked on campervan ownership for the first time.

Never noticed the interruptions, in fact one of the reasons my wife and I watch their videos, and always to the end, is they are unlike many of the other campervan videos which irritate us for varying reasons - but Will and Sarah's never do.

I have found their YouTube channel to be very helpful . We purchased our Cali in September, and we are still learning all the various features. Our Cali from the dealer was very noisy, with various rattles and squeaks. Watching the video on the subject helped silence some of them, still more work to do. On the test drive I made a comment on how noisy the rattles were, and found out later the clip holding the legs in the wind out awning was broken, so one of the legs was rattling. Glad to say the dealer sorted it for us. California Chris YouTube channel is also helpful if you are a newbie like us.

Just in case one of your rattles is the table, this string might be helpful:

I agree California Chris is another go to for functional issues. I also got many answers through 'advanced search' on this forum, once I had upgraded to VIP which I highly recommend, also for the resources section and direct messaging other members.

When we were getting to grips with this campervan stuff, we had 4 main sources back in 2021/22:
ABAB - A Bus And Beyond
California Time (now Campervan Time)
California Chris
and, this forum of course!
There’s one mention in that list that’s more valuable than all the others combined……
