What is this called and how do I fix it?

Hi folks,

I noticed the following damage to my van today whilst filling it with petrol. Not sure how it happened, sometime we throw an awning strap over the van and perhaps it has caught underneath the rail? I just don’t know who to describe what has been damaged here or where to start on a repair. Any suggestions appreciated, Rob

I believe it’s the front awning end cap. Available from the club shop. I had to replace the rear one recently & came across this.

Would also take a closer look at your roof, does not look to have closed correctly, from your photos.

It tucks into the end of the awning rail, pull it straight and forward and it’ll come out. Have a good look for corrosion and paint bubbling underneath.
