What have you bought for your Cali today :-)

My 5 year old say your post and is asking for an explanation.

Easy, it’s a sticker, so you stick it. Currently it’s raining so it won’t stick, so I have to wait till it’s dry. Sticking it up the nose doesn’t make sense, because you would see it mirrored when looking in the rear view mirror. Sticking it on the shoulder would mean you can only see it while passing or being passed (the latter is more likely in my case).

So the best place left to stick it would be the lower backend. In human terminology that’s where …

Is that a good enough explanation?

This little fan is absolutely brilliant.
It has a built in battery that you charge via usb, will run all night on battery power and is almost silent. It’s been a real lifesaver on our European trip.
I’m a big fan.
Just buy it.

we got one of them in white. agree, brilliant !

big question is "where to put it!" ;)
Mines still on the table... I'm not allowed to stick it on the outside.
Do they do one for inside the window?
If not then I shall get some transparent sticky, mount it to that and then stick it to the windscreen.

Ecomat 2000 Select Offshore edition PTC Heater. Winter is coming.

After having a few of the cheaper ceramic heaters and most of them being loud and challenging to control temps without an accurate thermostat I decided to take the plunge.

This thing cranks out amazing heat and is almost silent. Even using the lowest power setting of 450 watts it was pumping out heat.

I bought the offshore edition which has extra protection against corrosion (made for boats or high humidity) as it will be stored in my storage box outside the can which can have high humidity.

The price was a hard pill to swallow but the wife and I can’t sleep with noisy fans like the others. Looking forward to some winter trips with this!

It certainly looks very sturdy and a quality product that would survive an avalanche.

Is it your only heater or an addition?

My van has an Eberspaecher Hydronic II diesel heater and boiler. But when parked up close to other vans I don’t like being “that guy” running the diesel heater.

However even with a good electrical system and batteries running an electric heater at 450 watts won’t work for long without an AC hookup. I’d make it mostly through a night but that’s it on my batteries alone as I don’t want the bulk of hauling around an EcoFlow, etc.

I find myself using EV chargers often in winter (Type 2, AC chargers) with an adapter to CEE 16A EHU. In Winter it’s the easiest way to keep the batteries topped up without enough hours in the day on solar to recharge 360Ah of batteries.

That, and at least in Switzerland there are a lot of these chargers that are in the mountains and along lakefronts in rural areas that are not in use during the night. Perfect for a one night wild camp on AC with a near silent electric heater (diesel heaters are a clear giveaway that someone is sleeping inside).
