Trying to connect my t6.1 to the vw app I get to the point that I have to press the unlock buttons on the keys and nothing happens. Has anyone else got this to work?

Do you have a current We Connect Plus contract?
 
I don't think so how can I check?
To check your We Connect Plus status, use the Volkswagen app by navigating to Vehicle > Contracts and Validity Period. You can also check via the myVolkswagen website in the "Garage" section, or directly on the car's infotainment screen under We Connect settings. [1, 2]

  • How to Check in App: Open the Volkswagen app \(\rightarrow \) Vehicle \(\rightarrow \) Scroll to Contracts and Validity Period.
  • How to Check via Web: Go to myvolkswagen.net \(\rightarrow \) Login \(\rightarrow \) Garage menu \(\rightarrow \) Contracts and Contract Periods.
  • How to Check in Vehicle: Navigate to Settings \(\rightarrow \) We Connect to see if the services are active and the globe icon is active (not greyed out).
  • Validity: The free contract period usually begins automatically 90 days after initial delivery, if not activated sooner.
  • Troubleshooting: If the app says "not connected," ensure the car is in a good signal area and the privacy settings allow data sharing (globe symbol is not red/empty).
 
So on the website it says that as a secondary or guest user i can't view the contract status.
