Can't believe the roof is holding up so well with that much snow on it. Impressed.
Yes and no, we had noticed that it had sagged a little - at the back mainly, possibly by about an inch. Given we were leaving the next day we thought it best to just leave it and deal with it on packing up.

I cleared as much snow as possible before lowering and then prayed it went down ok. We were a bit dismayed to see the top of the roof had buckled down under the weight, and then very relieved to see it pop back up as it was cleared. We waited until the next stop before trying to raise the roof again (to get us out of the mountains and into somewhere more likely to be able to get help if a problem) - everything appears to be fine though. Very lucky and very impressed.

That's 3 winter alps trips now and I've been really impressed with just how capable and comfortable our little van is. Though I might lower the roof next time if that level of snow is forecast!

Old Hartley CAMC site on the NE coast - thanks to forum members for recommending this one, great base for a visit to Newcastle and one of the loveliest views from any site :)View attachment 145897
