The cost of fuel may reduce numbers anyway. They are coming out of habitation and heading north still it seems.

Couple of days ago after climbing but weather still the same, An Stac part of a fine classic Corbett round, did it a few winters ago.

Each to his own I guess, unless I am stuck behind a slow one in the cali, especially going home from work !
I would prefer a high top van conversion especially in the winter but with enough power to keep a good pace when required.

Brought the van to Ypres for a long weekend; no problems with Eurotunnel although they wanted to inspect the van to ensure the gas was turned off; superb weather and Ypres is buzzing because of the big cycle race tomorrow. Took the bike on a tour around the WW1 sites, Tyne Cot etc.

I was asked by one of the staff ‘are you a camper van or just a van’, I said the former and was directed to a side lane where a caravan in front of me was being inspected by the Eurotunnel folks. A guy came out of the office and said ‘is the gas off mate?’, to which I said yes and he told me to continue with my journey.. heading back tomorrow so I’ve ensured both taps are off; the one under the cooker and the one on top on the gas bottle.
