What a lucky dog!
Great pictures, as always. I assume the dog has got a hangover from the red wine!
You’ll need a decent set of ramps if you’re camping there!

Funny but I think we saw you yesterday around Lofoten. You are going at pretty fast pace aren't you?View attachment 38306 View attachment 38307 View from our van at 0900 this morning after a overnight stay in the car park of the Artic Circle Centre Northern Norway .
Try taking it when the van has stopped!!Tricky to catch northern lights wit a van in a frame. They are damn fast.

Best to read this before considering the place in my last post. https://www.dangerousroads.org/europe/france/8294-col-del-sommeiller.htmlGotta gotta go there Skewif. Could you give a couple of specific locations? (and links to suitable mapping?).

Did that with a Landrover and roof tent a few years back in July and there was still snow/ice at the top, thought vehicles had been banned from driving up there /Best to read this before considering the place in my last post. https://www.dangerousroads.org/europe/france/8294-col-del-sommeiller.html
The track up to Sommeiller is long, rough with such steep and tight switchbacks often you’re on only 3 wheels. High probability of doing harm to a std Cali. For more info on most of the places in the pics check out https://vwcaliforniaclub.com/threads/love-wild-camping-go-italian-alps.21430/. Happy to answer questions about places to go with relatively easy access on that thread.

Think there is snow at the top all year, the dog loved it. Sign on way up said just closed to motors on certain days of the week. I came back down very early on Saturday as cloud coming down and saw dozens of 4x4’s and off road motorbikes heading up there... no Cali’s strangely. A sense of achievement getting up to that altitude but better views from lesser heights IMO.Did that with a Landrover and roof tent a few years back in July and there was still snow/ice at the top, thought vehicles had been banned from driving up there /

Good stuff, dont think I would fancy it with my Cali ! like you say the scenery is possibly better on the drive up, we camped lower down if I remember correctly somewhere between 3 and 4 thousand feet. and it was still freezing overnight.Think there is snow at the top all year, the dog loved it.
