Can someone pls do me a favour and take a pic inside their tailgate of the chairs insitu.....

We have just had the wiper motor replaced under warranty and I can no longer get the right hand chair in as it appears the foam T piece has been put in off center.

I took the chairs out to "make it easier for them" and to "stop them from loosing them"... as i said to the missus.

I am not naming the dealer.... yet...

cheers

My foam block came off early-on, so I glued it back with a liberal application of two part epoxy (after roughing contact surfaces) using the two chairs in situ as my location guide.

How exactly would a photo help you? If it is the wrong position surely all you need to do is carefully lever it off with a palate knife or similar and refix.

I wanted to make a point to the dealer that they did a poor job and they needed to fix it. Van is 18 months old and warrantied.

Plus when it goes in to fix something i expect it to be done right...

the thread i mentioned shows a pic of it in place but another would be helpful so i can make a point to the service manager.

cheers

You obviously have a fair point, and what they did was wrong, but I just wonder whether you would likely do a better job yourself, and avoid a risk of souring relations with your dealer who may think you are being petty - unless there are larger issues which are also wrong. As VW supplied my van the fix was unsatisfactory and from other posts I am not alone. Personally I took the opportunity of improving the situation.

Like @Viktorgeorge ours fell off in the first few months of ownership. Unlike them we never bothered to refit to no detriment.

As mentioned I’d save my sanity and blood pressure and remove or reposition myself.
