Turbo Wastegate Noise

I have a 2014 180 bhp SE that has recently had a new EGR and Cooler fitted by my local VW Independent Garage that we have used for years. Since having the new cooler fitted I have noticed there is a “Whoosh” noise coming from the Wastegate more often than before the new EGR was fitted. It normally happens when there has been load on the engine, going uphill for instance then easing off the throttle. It’s not constant sometimes it won’t do it for about 10 miles. Should this be cause for concern or is it normal on a BiTurbo engine.

Sounds like they’ve possibly not connected one of the Intercooler hoses correctly?

That’s what I was thinking but am not that familiar with the BiTurbo engine.

Standard VW. Hoses with metal spring horseshoe clips. If the hose isn’t pushed in properly or the clip is on back to front- leak.
