Having now reached 75 I am shocked to see how much my travel insurance has risen. Can anyone out there recommend the cheapest travel insurance for oldies?

When travelling with the Van we always use Red Pennant for Health and Vehicle cover .

... though note "Important Announcement":

There will be a replacement.
That's perhaps a tad optimistic. I for one don't think there will be sadly.

The other club does have an offering though...

Red Pennant had really good reviews from people who had used the service. I have used Saga before and have annual travel and medical insurance from the BMC which covers more activities than many insurers.
As you get older it seems to be a bit of a minefield.
I have had to use european road cover on a number of occasions, unfortunately and have mixed experience.

Hi, we use Staysure as got pre-existing conditions and always been good and reasonable.

That's not filling me with confidence!

Mind you I've just removed most of this comment because I just saw elsewhere that the CAMC has partnered with Green Flag for European cover.

Haven't looked into the details but good news if it's accurate.
