Tailgate came back off-centre from bodyshop

When asked about it, the bodyshop said this variation is within 'factory specifications' and consistent with the variation you will find between all vehicles when you look closely enough. See the pictures below and share your thoughts. Thank you.

Annoyingly they are probably right.
Had a similar on a Volvo boot a few years back, and also a similar issue with a door card removal on the Cali that didn't sit right after they'd had it off.

Yours would bug the crap out of me. Too dark for me to see mine now.

Did they have the tailgate off? One assumes so if not off centre in the first place.

The lads at the factory used to fix these with a rubber mallet and block of wood.

Good panel chap should be able to sort that quick enough.

Sloppy. It’s achievable to get it right if they could be bothered.
