Hi, we have received our new 2025 T7 Ocean, and we just love it except for the lower bed/mattress. It's too firm/hard for us. I see the mattress topic a lot, and there are many supplier alternatives, but the T7 Ocean mattress width is 108cm, and I can't find 'off the shelf' solutions. The solutions I see are either a replacement of the folding mattress or an additional topper, but either way, I'm not finding the size. I believe that the supplied mattress is H3? Is this right? I've seen a few places online that can custom-make mattresses or toppers. Has anyone done this, or have recommendations? Many thanks.

Forum Shop.

I have exactly the same question as you @iainH. The Comfortz matrress looks great, but does anyone have experience with the comfort of it? As a lot of owners find the Duvaley topper more comfortable… @WelshGas do you know by any chance?

Unfortunately no. We found the VW mattress perfectly comfortable, upstairs or downstairs.

I’m still awaiting the new Duvalay Freshtec (custom made according to the forum shop, so I’ll let you know.
I find the T7 mattress far better than my previous California which without a topper was a challenging sleep!

Our solution (We’re in a 6.1) was to get 2 Duvalay toppers, each 56cm wide. They fit snugly together, or can be used separately upstairs and downstairs. As they’re individually smaller than a full width topper, they’re easier to store in the boot.

Can’t vouch for the T7 but we use a comfortz matress in our 6.1 and find it extremely comfortable. It’s 6 or 7 years old though and has stayed with us through a number of vans. So as long as it’s just a shape/size change for the T7 then it gets my recommendation, the shop or comfortz would be able to advise if that’s the case or not.

I’m hoping they will do the same for T7 size

Oehhh I am really happy to hear that! Keep us up to date @sticky1 :)

Any updates @sticky1?

I got a sea to summit inflatable campervan mattress. It's a couple of centimetres wider than base but it still fits ok. Very comfy and packs down smaller than a duvalay.

Nice to know !
I have two S2S campervan mattress’s.

Exactly what we do, mind you 2 x singles for a T7 will be quite narrow!

Hi, sorry for delay. I have the comfortz 75mm and, for us, it’s much improved from the standard but it’s not quite there. We are side sleepers, and it’s a touch on the hard side. I don’t have experience of other toppers though.

… it was delivered very fast and folds up on top of existing, looks good with sand colour finish. At a guess, the T7 standard is hard for us, the 75mm comfortz is memory foam and probably a medium hardness. I slept well on it, but if I had a magic wand, I’d have it touch softer - getting old :). Sticking with it.

Thank you so much for the update. Although I’m in my 30’s, I’m like you: preferring a softer matras. I’m going to pay a visit to a Duvalay shop. You can test the matras there and try it on the hardboard. Will let you know my update later on!

I didn't realise you could test at Duvelay - what a great idea. Yes, please let us know how you get on.

Not a good idea using your Post Code as your location on your Avatar.

I have been away but the delivery was delayed.
I’ll try this weekend and share here.
Finally got to try the Duvalay Freshtec for the T7 and it is excellent. It is as close to feeling like you are on a domestic mattress as you are likely to get, in my opinion.
I’m using the zip on Duvalay sheets too.
I’m not sure if I would leave the mattress in the van all the time but for extended trips in poor weather when I expect to be downstairs then I will probably take it.
Upstairs is still incredibly comfortable and definitely my preference.
I have found a waterproof bag that is big enough for it and two pillows, so it’s now portable.

Very nice! That looks super comfy!

Have you got a porta potti ?
Have you tried it on the floor in front of fridge, will the lid open ?
Really don’t want to take mine to B’ham Swansway, and try it there, but I’m bursting to know !

I have got a porta potti and it does fit but in an emergency I use a TravelJohn, they are so easy and small. I have a collapsible bag loo just in case.…..
The Portapotti is awkward but doable if you’ll pardon the pun. I’ll try and take a photo for you.

Thank you so much for the update @sticky1! I’m getting really excited now, after your review. Can I ask you why you went for the freshtec option? And how many centimetres is yours? I know I’m asking a lot, but do you by any chance also have a picture when it is folded up? Thank you again for the update! Kind regards from the Netherlands!
