T7 infotainment screen gone blank

Hi all,

We have a T7 Ocean diesel delivered new in April 2025.

Apart from some initial problems of a discharged main battery (which appears to be fixed : fingers crossed) we suffer increasingly often from an infotainment screen which doesn't light up when the ignition is switched on. It stays blank whilst a series of warning messages appear on the driver's screen (behind the steering wheel) to say that various functions aren't working (emergency call, driving aids such as road-sign recognition, ...). And without the infotainment screen we have no radio, no Satnav, no heater controls, no parking sensors, no rear camera, etc.

We took the van to a local VW commercial vehicle centre who did a software update which appeared to fix the problem at first but not for long.
After reading some threads for similar problems on T6's I tried holding the screen's on/off button down for 15 seconds or so which initially succeeded in bringing the screen back to life but the problem has got worse in recent weeks to the point where the infotainment screen is always blank and can't be revived.

Needless to say we have booked an upcoming rendez-vous at the VW centre but in the meantime I would love to know if anyone else has had this problem on a T7 ?

Thanks

Steve

PS please don't ask what software version I have : I need the infotainment screen working to be able to read it .... !

I know you’ve probably tried this but when I had a similar issue I wasn’t holding the power button for long enough, I held it for about 30 seconds and you see the screen go completely black, as in the backlight goes off too. That fixed it for me.

I think there might be a soft reboot and a hard reboot on the power button hold
