Hi all,

So I’ve had a couple of trips away and have found the front screen a bit of a pain to secure at the rear view mirror. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong but the pole is too long and just gets in the way.

Tonight I decided not to install the centre pole in the screen, so just the outside four. Absolute game changer, easier to secure on the mirror without moving it, and outsides sit square.

We found ours fitted well. We used to take it off in the morning and place it on the front dash so we didn't have to make it up every night. Always found you got lots of condensation inside the windscreen.

It has now been consigned to the garage and we got an external screen cover from custom camping (see avatar). This is so much easier to put on and has a velcro flap at the front to allow light in during the day. I would highly recommend this solution as we now get no condensation.

It seems like a good upgrade to the interior one but not a cheap one! I bought one from Temu and it didn't fit properly (surprise surprise) so a proper one is on the list at some point

There are cheaper options from the club shop. I am really pleased with the custom camping one. Easy to fit and really flexible for letting light in whilst still maintaining privacy.

Exterior one every time, VW Cali screen cover from Campervan Bits. Not cheap but does what is says on the tin. Great for keeping van cool in summer warmer in winter as windscreen doesn’t get hot in summer or too cold in winter

We haven’t even tried to use ours as we bought a Rainbow Screens external cover. Ordered it the day after we ordered the van!

For a balanced point of view:-
We’ve just moved from a t6 to a t7, the t6 had an outer thermal cover, it worked fine, no condensation.
Tried the t7 inner standard VW blinds last weekend for the first time and they worked fine also, no condensation.
My suggestion is try before you buy.

That is good to hear. Outer ones are great but when wet and you want to drive on, it is something wet to store inside
