We had issue on our, T6 Ocean bellows replace under warranty so we gained front opening to the tent. However after fix it returned within a year. Self fixed with as others said with a mastic. If you use a bungee cord on the roof that can start the issue in my view.

Exactly the same happened to me a couple of weeks ago… posted on this forum… mind boggling that this occurs to so many VW campers (MY 2021) and yet we have to sort it with no help from VW or am I wrong?

Hi, I had the same issue earlier this year with a 23 MY Ocean, left in with VW and corners were 'restuck' under warranty. Seems to be OK for now, however, supposedly new bellows if the problem reoccurs.

You’re probably right about the cord being part of the issue. Also it’s a very tight corner on my van.

Sadly my stitching has now come away so a more tricky repair is coming soon.

The Bellows being pulled out of the roof channel is purely down to variations in the rubber seal thickness to roof channel width. The amount of pulling force produced by a properly fitted Bungee cord is miniscule compared to the force generated by a light breeze or above on the canvas of a raised roof.
An overextended roof, tight canvas ( wet or dry ) , thinner rubber seal etc: would all contribute and the fact that this almost always seems to occur on a front corner , that is exposed to downward pulling forces fro 2 sides when the wind blows, tends to point to variations in mechanical tolerances between vehicles and bellows.
The bellows are fitted dry, no glue/sealant, at the factory and the repair is the application of a suitable glue/sealant.
The T6.1 probably doesn't need the bungee as the bellows is a different construction.
NB : It seems this problem was very uncommon on the T5/5.1 and early 6, compared to the T6.1 and the bungee was very commonly used on the T5/5.1 and T4 which were more prone to catching the bellows in the roof mechanism.

I had similar on new bellows. The dealer said leave 24 hours for glue to set. However no sign of glue & so just pushed back in but seems ok even though roof been up a few times. Mine was on a bottom front corner
