T4 2.0 petrol, 1996 cooling system diagram, anyone?

Hi,

help needed and very much appreciated!

There is a pipe leaving the engine on the right hand side (looking from in front of the car) returning coolant to the expansion tank, this appears to sit on a metal pipe coming directly out of the engine. On my car this part has broken off!! I cannot find a diagram showing this part clearly let alone giving it a name, I do not know if the metal pipe was part of the engine, welded fast or sits in the engine and is therefore replaceable.

Can any of you T4 geniuses shine a little light on this problem for me?
