Hi All,
I have been a very happy customer of Roger at Solar Camper Solutions, but I am keen to swap out my two panels with two Renogy Shadowflux panels. I want to keep my curly wire and MPPT. Does anyone know the kind of connector Roger uses on his panels and if it’s a straight swap (I think Renogy use MCT4). I’d contact Roger myself, but it’s almost the weekend so I thought I’d try here first.

Thanks!

If the new panels are MP4 connectors, then I'd imagine it should be a straight swap and unplug / plug and play

They look different to MC4 (screen grab from a useful YouTube video). I want to keep the curly cable, so I presume it’s straightforward lop off of the original connector from it and swap it with an MC4?

On my recently purchased replacement panels from Roger he made a point of asking what colour my connectors were (grey or black) which suggest that he switched connectors at some point over the last few years.

I interested in building my only solar for my Cali, out of interest how will you fix these rigid panels to your van.

Hi, apologies for hijacking your thread but I’m thinking of doing the same. How did you connect to the curly cable in the end if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks
