Stiff overhead locker

Haven’t found much in the forum about the overhead locker but for me it’s one of the few things after two years of having a Cali that I just can’t get right. We are now on our second locker, the first one having been replaced under warranty because it kept getting stuck on the passenger side. We have been super careful with the new one but it’s showing signs of going the same way. We don’t pack it anywhere near full and certainly nothing heavy. We put things in that probably only need accessing a couple of times a day. I would try spraying with silicon spray (which we found made such a difference to sticky windows and cupboard doors) but not sure where to aim. I’d rather not just abandon the locker as unreliable/unusable, so I’d be interested if anyone has found a way to improve the smoothness of its movement. TIA

So pleased that you posted this and, no I cannot give you an answer as we have exactly the same issue. It is almost as though there is a spacer missing. However, the locker feels unevenly balanced and slews to the kitchen side. We keep toiletries in there and are very conscious of the miserly 2.5kg load capacity.
Looking forward to some knowledgeable person stepping forward with a solution.

The locker doesn’t work very well if van is not level, try spraying some silicone on the hinges and catch.

Thanks @jeff. It doesn't matter if is level or on a slope, the locker catches on the kitchen side whatever. The locker scraps on the side panel.
We'll try the spray though.

I thought it was just stiff..... can't say we've noticed it skewing towards the kitchen, but then we don't, or rather haven't really used it that much until we decided to change what we kept in there.
Used it a few times in France but figured it was stiff as it was barely used

Ok thanks, all. I’ll try some spray and bear in mind the slope possibility. Sounds like rarely needed and relatively lightweight stuff only. What a shame!

We also have had the same issue from new and we are coming up to 3 years old. It is annoying and I keep meaning to take a look and see if I can work out what the problem is, the thing is as with all these little annoyances on the California it becomes an issue of should I take it to closest dealer that actually knows what they are dealing with (Breeze Pool) which for us is a 1.5 hour journey away or do I investigate it myself up until now I have done neither maybe this post will encourage me to take a look

I sprayed the locating sliders set in the top and bottom on the kitchen cupboard doors with silicone and it transformed how they slide.
