Steering wheel not aligned

My steering wheel isn’t aligned - tyre pressure for all 4 are correct.

Spoke to Listers who are trying to charge me £350 plus vat

Would this be covered by warranty?

I'll bet right now they'll say it's not covered by warranty.
They'll say it's wear and tear, that the alignment is out because you hit something etc etc

Correct. Having dealt with this problem, I've come to the conclusion that the front bushes are "weak" for the vehicle. I swapped mine out (all round) at 64k miles for polyflex and the benefit is increased tyre life, even tyre wear and a straight steering wheel...., the downside is the steering is very precise

Can you not just get an alignment service at a local garage? Assuming it's the same as the tracking being out, Kwik Fit do this for around £30 per wheel.

I must had this done 10x with specialist / recommended garages.... went to a group chain and it came out worse....your tracking was out, we put it right, now worse. Computer says its fine......

And that may well be the cause, if it was centred previously. With the state of the roads at present it wouldn't be unusual.
You need the tracking checked first and then the steering wheel can be centred. NB: the steering wheel centre point can vary, central on a motorway that doesn't have a significant camber and off centre on single carriage roads that have a more pronounce camber.

What an odd thing to say. If the tracking is out because you’ve hit something then that means something is bent. You can’t move the setting via an impact, it doesn’t work like that.
Suspension components are designed and analysed with high speed kerb strikes in mind so it’s highly unlikely something is bent.
If your steering wheel is visibly misaligned then a simple test with good old string will highlight any tracking irregularities.
It sounds like you just need to find a decent old school tyre place with a competent guy to do it properly.

I recently hit a sink hole type pot hole in my ford transit work van. Scared the hell out of me and I was sure I’d damaged the tyre or wheel. Anyway both were fine but the steering wheel was off centre. I took it to my trusted local garage to check for damage and they gave it a clean bill of health but recommended a 4 wheel alignment. They could only do 2 wheel ones not 4 wheel fr some reason. Ford wanted £200 to do a 4 wheel alignment and couldn’t do it for 2 weeks so I contacted a Formula 1 centre local to where I was working. They fitted me in within 2 hours and charged £95 to do the alignment and now the steering wheel is as straight as it was when I got the van new. They also gave me a print out of before and after figures of the alignment. Now I stay well clear of pot holes in anything I’m driving.

Full computer alignment (not just tracking) sorted ours out. Rears checked as well. Cost about £70.

I had these people do a 4 wheel alignment on mine 2 years ago when they fitted four CC2’s for me. They are very good. This info only of use to anyone in Cornwall of course.
