Sink pump failure

Ive got a 2015 T5 California. I’ve read others post on this a few years back and now sadly I think we have become another victim of pump failure. I’ve checked the fuse and it’s not that and the tap still makes the clicking noise but no water. I wanted to get into the water tank to give the pump a bash to see if it was just stuck but I can’t get into the tank. I’ve rang the local VW garage and they want £115 just for the diagnostics so good knows how much the pump and labour would be. Anyone in the midlands area (Leicester) had a similar issue and managed to fix it themselves or find someone who isn’t going to charge me £££ for the pleasure? Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Cleaning fresh water tank on T5 cali

Hi there. On top of the fresh water tank there is a large opening for use when cleaning the tank. This should open when turned anti-clockwise (electrical sensor disconnected). I can't shift it. Is there a special tool or should it be just brute strength t0 turn this lid?
