I bought a hi spec beach in Feb 24, which is great as a do it all vehicle! However, unfortunately, my life plans have turned upside down, and I am going to be abroad most of the time.

Has anyone sold through a dealer or broker? I'm not sure I have enough time to sell privately and this time of year isn't great either! On the other hand losing 10k not selling privately is a depressing thought too!

Any ideas!!!!???

Maybe i should man up and list it in the adverts on here??

Cheers

No need to use a broker, you will make more on a private sale.

Advertised our 2012 Beach + 2015 Joker on club classifieds, eBay & facebook marketplace. If your beach is well spec’d it we’ll sell quickly. Base specs seem harder to shift.

Beach (£33K):
- Zero interest on club classifieds
- Some interest on EBay, but most buyers quite a distance away.
- Sold locally on FB marketplace within 2 days of listing, buyer paid by bank transfer within 7 days.

2015 Club Joker (£47K):
- Zero interest on club classifieds (not a Cali)
- Sold within 6 weeks on EBay to local buyer
- No interest on FB marketplace

Its on the classifieds on here! FB marketplace scares me! Ebay might be worth a try??

What did you do about deposit and test drives? I assume final payment is bank transfer and check on phone???!!

I've changed our Cali quite a few times, and have advised only on the forum, and sold quickly.
Currently there are a lot more for sale, so l suspect the market is a bit tougher, and it's autumn which makes a big difference when selling. Keep it and try to use until next spring, much easier to sell then.
Selling privately did achieve much better price than was offered by a dealer at the time.

Went with them on test drives.

Make sure they are insured to drive vehicles under their policy. If you have a tight driveway…drive it out for them, and then switchover.

You can check someone’s identity is valid using the 192.com app for a small fee.

Put a apple tag or similar in the van, just in case!

I didn’t ask for a deposit as both were local, so theyarranged payment upon collection via bank transfer. Checked on HSBC bank app.
You need to be patient as most banks now do KYC / money laundering checks at last minute, which may take additional 15mins or so…which can be embarrassing for the buyer.

Worth remembering that they are also spending a lot of cash on your van, so they need to be sure it belongs to you etc so might be anxious which might come across as them being dodgy!

I bought my Ocean through the club adverts, I was looking on eBay, and Auto trader too, I was looking for a high spec beach but couldn't find one in my price range with all the options I wanted ( LED headlights, Auto, comfort dash etc) but found my Ocean on the club website and I'm very happy with it.
