I have had a look around the forum and found a few posts on rusty vans but not much on rust proofing.
My late 22 van sub frame has surface rust all over it. I'm going to give it rub down and paint as much as possible. I'll probably give the inside of them some treatment as well.
Some of the posts talk about galvanised panels. Have the T6.1's been treated or had special paint done underneath? Sometimes rust proofing can block drain holes and make things worse. There is a youtube video on a guy stripping all the protective plastic from underneath and spraying everything. Looks a thorough job but not something you would attempt on a driveway.
I was going to remove the plastic wheel arch liners yearly to clear dirt away. Is this enough to keep it from rotting away or have people done any preventative rust proofing?
