Road Trip - France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium 2025

Day 28
Oirschot, Netherlands
Driving day to Netherlands.

The German autobahns are interesting. Firstly they are very busy. The slow lane is nose-to-tail trucks, the whole way. The middle lane is everyone else going 130 kph. The fast lane is reserved for German made estate cars doing 230 kph, closely followed by LWB Mercedes Sprinter vans trying to get past them. Lane discipline is excellent.

Day 30
Mission accomplished.

Spent the rest of the day in The Hague.
Big day for the dogs, crowded bus and train journeys and The Hague is a big busy city. Netherlands has excellent dog friendly public transport. Found a great coffee shop, full of hipsters (Lola bikes and coffee).
Weather still sh!t.

Great trip, as was your last year’s one. Bet you’re longing for a Greggs sausage roll and some potholes now though.

Day 31
Bruges, Belgium
Bruges, gorgeous as always. Staying at CamperPlaats Bargeweg. Ok and an easy walk into centre. Drank beer, ate waffles, bought chocolate, as you do.

Need to sort a vet out for the dogs tomorrow for their wormers.

Day 32
Calais
Trip to the vets in Bruges to get the dogs documents sorted. Followed by a day on the beach at Dunkirk, seemed appropriate.
Camping-carpark Calais tonight. Miserable place haha.
