I have some cascavels in less than perfect condition and thinking of getting them refurbished.

Thinking it may be better to paint them than have them returned to diamond cut finish.

Think they may be too far gone any way given the flaking.

Does anyone know any company in the South West of London, or Surrey, that could do the work?

Image of the sort of damage attached. I have no idea how it got so bad so quickly.

Can't offer local recommendations but I've known diamond cut wheels be shot blasted and powder coated for less than £300 (up North) and are much sturdier and fit for our roads when done.

Imo they are not too far gone for refurbishing.

The critical bit: the remaining height left on the outer shoulder (shown in your photo) vs the black depression sections.
Refurbishing removes an amount of this material and diminishes the ability for future refurbishing by diamond turning.
When refurbishing to the original diamond turned face :
The wheel is shot blasted and painted the base colour as normal for all wheels,
then the outer material is removed on a lathe to create the original silver "Diamond Turned" areas (traditionally turned on a lathe with a Diamond tipped tool, hence the name - although modern techniques use other tipped tools)
then the wheel is degreased and clear lacquer's is applied to the wheels to seal the exposed aluminium. (Silver sections)
Note coloured lacquer can be applied to give additional visual effects.

If you use the wheels as summer wheels only, keep them away from any road salt and repair the spots of damaged lacquer as you notice any chips, the wheels will stay in pretty good overall condition.
If you use them in winter conditions (salt on roads) they will end up corroded again where any lacquer chips occur.

If you google alloy wheel refurbishing in your area I'm sure loads of companies will come up.

Here is a really good video of the post spraying operation to apply the Diamond turning finish back to the painted wheel.

Diamond cut wheels are sh1te.don't know why companies insist on fitting these wheels that don't last 6 months on British roads. Swap for alloys or have powder coated. Do not refurb back to diamond cut, wasting your time and money and end up with the same issue a Yr later. Yes I've got some, I hate them

Try here, and ask for Danny
